When distortion becomes common, expected, ordinary, traditional, procedural, legal, profitable, polite, professional, or culturally familiar, it can escape scrutiny. The harm becomes harder to see because the system no longer treats it as exceptional enough to audit.


1. Formal Definition

The Normalization Shield Law states that normalized harm becomes shielded from audit because commonness is misread as coherence, legitimacy, inevitability, maturity, realism, or acceptability.

5. When This Law Does Not Apply

This law should not be used to treat all norms as harmful.
